Education

Materials Engineering graduate from the University of British Columbia (Vancouver, Canada). Minor in Commerce from the Sauder School of Business.

Experience

I have experience tutoring Calculus, Mathematics, Economics, and Thermodynamics. Interested in tutoring all levels of Calculus or Mathematics. Interested in tutoring high school students looking to improve their Maths and Calculus in preparation for post secondary education. I enjoy working with engineering students to overcome the Calculus hurdles and succeed in their engineering courses. I currently play for the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL. I played college hockey at UBC while earning my Materials Engineering degree. I have also worked as an Engineer in Training in the Vancouver area. I have tutored university and high school students in the past and find it very rewarding. At different points in my academic career I have struggled to grasp the material I was being taught. Having someone to guide you through difficult subjects can make a big difference. I would like to be able to provide this assistance to a committed student. I try to build a relationship with each student I tutor. I also make a good role model for young student athletes having been the captain of my varsity hockey team in college and now playing hockey professionally. Courses: Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, Multivariable Calculus, Differential Equations, Linear Systems, Statistics, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Financial Accounting, Thermodynamics, Physics I have not taken the SATs as they are not a requirement of Canadian Universities. However, at UBC I was a three time academic all Canadian. I also won the Lockheed Martin Award for the design of a vacuum insulated cooler, and have components of the design which have since been patented and developed for use in vaccine coolers by the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation.

Hobbies

I first got into tutoring by helping teammates of mine. I would see them struggling with a subject and it would spark my interest, I would put down my own work because I was more interested in the challenge that helping them succeed presented. I am an outgoing person who is very competitive and driven by challenges. I don't expect the students I tutor to be this way but I try to bring this out in each of them.
